Memorial day in the city by the bay

This painting is another local scene from the town in which I live.  I painted this just last year.

Fun Fact:


It was so incredibly hot the day I painted this painting and I needed a subject matter in the foreground of my painting.  My sweet little granddaughter had volunteered to be my subject in the terrible heat.  We went to get a drink first and when we came back this lovely couple with their dog was in the very spot I was going to ask my granddaughter to sit and pose.  Perfect!!

Royal Reality

Although the man in the painting is dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, in reality he is a genuine prince for he is a son of the King of Kings.  I try to remind people that when they are a child of God, they are genuine royalty though they may not look or feel it.

Dk on a hot summer day in the city by the bay!

This past year I painted many scenes En plein air around town where I live.  It is a beautiful nautical town and I enjoy capturing it's activity and ambiance.

This painting is about how God covers us with his protection, power, and love.  We are always in His hands.  I used the eagle rather than a sparrow to symbolize the strength that He gives us.  Although He gives us the strength to soar, we must still rest in His hands.

This painting is a newer design that wasn't burned in the fire.  The couple represents any one of us who love God and are safe and secure no matter how the world is swirling about us.  Because this painting is a square shape I will have to print it as such so think about what kind of frame you'd like to get for the print.  Maybe a large white matte would look nice.

Angel's Song

This painting is painted specifically for a verse.  "Truly bells were ringing and angel's singing the day that you were born."  I wanted to have a birthday greeting that said a little more.

Fun Fact:


I believe people need to be reminded of their importance and significance and that was my purpose in this painting/design.  This painting was lost in the fire but fortunately I have a print to reproduce prints.  I've only seen angels once in my life in a very short vision during prayer and this is as close as I can depict how they looked.  They were blue and white glowing like neon signs.  I could never exactly portray angels as no one knows what they look like but, I don't believe angels look like fat little cupid's or pretty women in pretty dresses either.  ;)  They are majestic, awesome, and beautiful beings.

Betrothed

This painting is about a woman in waiting for her beloved.  It represents all women in this position and also the bride of Christ waiting for our True Beloved to return.

Fun Fact:

This painting was one that was burned in the fire.  All I have are prints left.  It wasn't until after I completed this painting that I noticed that the position of the eyes seemed to move depending on how close or far away you stand from the painting.  At a further distance the eyes look more downward and downcast, but the closer you step towards the painting the more the eyes look up and appear brighter.  I interpreted this as symbolic of any woman in waiting and of our anxious awaiting for the arrival of the bride Groom.
